Hexa Consulting is looking for a Middle Network Engineer to support infrastructure and security operations in the banking sector. This hybrid role is based in Porto, with three days per week at the office.

The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in network engineering, English proficiency, strong organizational skills, and a proactive ownership mindset. Willingness to travel across Europe is required; Juniper JNCIP or Cisco CCNP certifications are preferred.

• Maintain network infrastructure using standardized processes and automation-oriented tools.

• Define efficient and secure network architectures in collaboration with teams.
• Prepare detailed technical design documentation and coordinate implementations.
• Support operation of network and security services ensuring quality and continuity.
• Coordinate topics with third-party suppliers and service providers.
• Assist internal and external stakeholders on network and security matters.

We are looking for a Middle Network Engineer to support infrastructure and security operations in the banking sector. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Porto, with three days per week at the office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Maintain network infrastructure using standardized processes and automation-oriented tools.
• Provision and support network solutions and controls across infrastructure environments.
• Contribute to infrastructure and business initiatives by helping define efficient and secure network architectures.
• Prepare detailed technical design documentation and coordinate implementation with technical teams.
• Support the operation of network and security services, ensuring quality, continuity and alignment with business requirements.
• Coordinate technical topics with third-party suppliers, hardware vendors and network communications service providers.
• Support internal and external stakeholders on network and security-related matters.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure or similar functions.
• Professional working proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong organizational skills, clear communication and a proactive sense of ownership.
• Collaborative, responsible and solution-oriented working approach.
• Availability to travel to different European countries when required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Juniper JNCIP or Cisco CCNP certification, with CCNA also considered.
• Firewall technologies, especially Check Point and Fortinet.
• Network service provider concepts, including service types, SLAs, fiber paths and redundancy.
• Network trace analysis in critical and complex environments.
• Security-oriented network design and operations.
• Trading networks and protocols, such as SWIFT and FIX.
• ITIL-based change management processes.
• Network architecture, low-level design documentation and infrastructure governance.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY

Base salary range: EUR 18 000 - EUR 20 000 gross/year

Total compensation: up to EUR 30 000/year

The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
