Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Lisbon is seeking a Network Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents, configure LAN/WAN, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and MPLS, and monitor performance. You will collaborate with NOC teams and field technicians on enterprise network services.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Telecommunications or Computer Engineering, hands-on experience in network operations, knowledge of BGP/OSPF/STP, and familiarity with Cisco, Nokia, Huawei, Fortinet

Qualifications

• Higher education in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, IT or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Experience in network operations, engineering or technical support.
• Good knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLANs, IP addressing, routing and switching.
• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS and STP.
• Experience troubleshooting network incidents and identifying root causes.
• Familiarity with network monitoring, equipment upgrades and configuration changes.
• Exposure to firewalls, corporate Wi‑Fi or customer premises equipment is valued.
• CCNA or CCNP certifications are valued but not mandatory.

YOUR PROFILE

• Previous experience in network operations, engineering or technical support.
• Good knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLANs, IP addressing, routing and switching.
• Knowledge of protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS and STP.
• Experience troubleshooting network incidents and identifying root causes.
• Familiarity with network monitoring, equipment upgrades and configuration changes.
• Exposure to firewalls, corporate Wi‑Fi, network security or customer premises equipment is valued.
• Experience with manufacturers such as Cisco, Nokia, Huawei, Fortinet or Check Point is an advantage.
• Python, network automation knowledge and CCNA or CCNP certifications are valued but not mandatory.
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with different technical teams.
• Availability for on‑call support and occasional out‑of‑hours implementations.
