Devoteam Portugal is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Nearshore team, collaborating with an international client in the UK. You will build, evolve, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and ExpressJS, delivering robust APIs and high-performance services.

We value strong experience with SQL databases, Docker, and secure architecture, complemented by a proactive mindset and excellent English communication for global collaboration.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on Node.js.
• Solid expertise in ExpressJS for building scalable backend services.
• Strong proficiency in Relational Databases (SQL) and data modeling.
• Proven experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker is highly valued.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture patterns, security, and clean code standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) for daily international collaboration.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join Devoteam Portugal's Nearshore team, working directly with an international client based in the UK within the Tech-led Facilities Management & Infrastructure Solutions sector. In this role, you will focus on building, evolving, and maintaining scalable and high-performance backend applications.

• Develop, evolve, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and ExpressJS
• Design, implement, and maintain robust, secure, and well‑documented RESTful APIs
• Ensure code quality through engineering best practices, data modeling, testing, and performance optimization
