Aubay Portugal is seeking a skilled Middleware Operations Engineer to provide critical production support for IBM MQ environments. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience with middleware solutions, particularly IBM MQ, and must be able to work autonomously in high-pressure situations.

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years of experience in middleware operations, messaging platform support, or production support;
• Proven hands-on experience with IBM MQ in critical production environments;
• Strong knowledge of IBM MQ Appliance;
• Good understanding of MQ architecture, including queue manager topology, channels, client/server flows, integration patterns, and resilience principles;
• Practical exposure to AMS, MQIPT, and mq.ini operational handling;
• Strong experience in MQ monitoring, alert analysis, incident qualification, service restoration, and controlled production changes;
• Experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery strategies, including failover readiness, continuity validation, and rollback preparation;
• Experience with infrastructure lifecycle activities such as firmware updates, platform maintenance, and data center migration;
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix basics, network connectivity, certificate basics, and log analysis;
• Ability to work autonomously on complex L2/L3 production support topics in critical environments;
• Experience in financial environments will be valued;
• Fluency in English (required).
