Job summary

Dotmoovs is building movement analysis software that reads videos from smartphones to measure and demonstrate client recovery. We are a small team of 15 in Braga and Lisbon, with active partnerships in Portugal.

You will work on a backend-centric fullstack role centered around the video pipeline, APIs, and model deployment. Expect hands-on coding, scalable infrastructure, and opportunities to contribute to gamification features that engage users.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years shipping software.
• Code you wrote with your own hands in the last 12 months.
• Strong Python, or strong fundamentals elsewhere and real appetite for it.
• Databases, APIs, containers, cloud.
• Enough frontend to finish a feature without handing it off.
• Working English; day-to-day in Portuguese.
• Video, streaming or HLS experience helps, and exposure to models in production.

Responsibilities

• Own the video pipeline from phone uploads over mobile networks to reliable processing.
• Improve performance on real data volume with thousands of points per inference.
• Develop and maintain the APIs behind our mobile app and Studio, including subscriptions & freemium gating.
• Move ML models from laptop to production with the engineering team.
• Support gamification features: progression, rewards, and user retention.

This is fullstack with the centre of gravity in backend.

What we do

Dotmoovs builds movement analysis software. Our computer vision system reads a video from an ordinary smartphone. No sensors, no markers, no special hardware.

Professionals use it to measure how a client moves and show recovery instead of describing it. Athletes use it to see technique they cannot see themselves. Our dataset spans 82,000 users across 190 countries.

We are 15 people in Braga and Lisbon. We launched in August and we are in use with partners in Portugal.

What you will work on

The video pipeline, where uploads arrive from phones on mobile networks with dropped connections and partial uploads.

Performance over real data volume, thousands of points per inference kept fast and queryable.

The APIs behind our mobile app and web Studio, including subscriptions and freemium gating.

Getting machine learning models from working on a laptop to reliable in production, alongside the engineers who build them.

Gamification: progression, rewards, and what brings people back to train.

What you need
