Soben, part of Accenture, is seeking an MEP Project Manager to lead large-scale data centre projects across Portugal and Europe. You will manage design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover while coordinating clients, contractors and vendors.

You will drive safety, quality and performance, develop client relationships, and support business growth with a flexible, hybrid working model across European markets.

Qualificações

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical building services systems.
• Experience delivering data centre projects in hyperscale, colocation, or high-tech environments.
• Experience in MEP design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the successful delivery of MEP works across large-scale data centre developments.
• Manage projects from early design through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Interface between clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Drive programme, cost, quality, safety and performance objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design and construction teams to achieve objectives.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with specifications and client requirements.
• Oversee risk management, change control, governance and stakeholder reporting.
• Support procurement, tendering and contractor appointment processes.
• Manage testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and operational readiness.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships across Portuguese and wider European markets.

The Opportunity

As an MEP Project Manager, you will:

• Lead the successful delivery of MEP works across large-scale data centre developments.
• Manage projects from early design stages through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Serve as the primary interface between clients, contractors, consultants, and specialist vendors.
• Drive programme, cost, quality, safety, and performance objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design and construction teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
• Oversee risk management, change control, project governance, and stakeholder reporting.
• Support procurement, tendering, and contractor appointment processes.
• Manage testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and handover activities.
• Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and operational readiness are maintained.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business growth across the Portuguese and wider European markets.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Proven experience delivering data centre projects within hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, or high-tech environments.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems.
• Experience managing MEP design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Professional membership or chartered status, or working towards chartership, with a recognised engineering institution.
• A thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle from concept through to operational handover.
• Experience working for a consultancy, client, developer, or contractor delivering complex construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, project controls, programme management, and risk management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across international project teams.
• Fluency in English is essential. Portuguese language skills would be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel within Portugal and across Europe as project requirements dictate.
