Job summary

CTS Group is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical and plumbing services for a major Data Centre project in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. You will oversee design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover, guiding teams and coordinating interfaces with civil and architectural works.

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical engineering.
• Strong experience in MEP management or coordination on construction projects.
• Experience managing teams and specialist subcontractors.

• Ability to read technical drawings and project documentation.
• Experience with commissioning and handover processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced English; availability to work on-site in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.

Responsibilities

Ready to lead the MEP delivery of a major Data Centre project?

At CTS Group, we’re looking for an experienced MEP Manager (m/f/d) to join our team and take a leading role in the coordination and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) services across a major project.

This is a role for an engineering professional who combines strong technical expertise with leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills — someone who can bring different disciplines, teams and stakeholders together to keep complex MEP works moving safely, efficiently and according to plan.

From design through to commissioning and handover, you’ll play a central role in ensuring MEP systems are delivered to the required quality, schedule, budget and project standards.

What will you be doing?

You’ll take ownership of MEP coordination throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with engineering teams, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating MEP activities across design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover

• Managing and supporting MEP engineers, supervisors, technicians and specialist subcontractors

• Coordinating interfaces between MEP disciplines and civil, structural and architectural works

• Reviewing MEP designs, technical drawings, specifications, submittals and method statements

• Ensuring MEP solutions comply with project specifications, contractual requirements, standards and regulations

• Overseeing technical reviews, quality inspections and progress monitoring

• Identifying, analysing and resolving technical, design and construction challenges

• Maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors

• Supporting project planning, forecasting, progress tracking and milestone achievement

• Monitoring MEP construction progress and ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule

• Coordinating testing, commissioning, system integration and handover

• Ensuring the completion of as-built drawings, technical dossiers and handover documentation

• Promoting high standards of safety, quality and efficiency across all MEP activities.

What are we looking for?

Your technical and professional background:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a related discipline

• Solid professional experience in MEP management or coordination within construction or engineering projects

• Previous experience managing teams and specialist subcontractors

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing / building services systems

• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation

• Experience with commissioning and handover processes is highly valued

• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills

• Advanced English — mandatory

• Availability to work on‑site in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
