A leading engineering firm is seeking an MEP Lead to manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities in Lisbon. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in large-scale construction or data center projects, alongside proven leadership skills. This role involves coordinating MEP services through all project phases and ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations. Winthrop Technologies is a dedicated data centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to our clients, headquartered in Dublin and delivering throughout Europe.

We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking a MEP Lead to join our team in Iberia. The MEP Lead will be responsible for managing and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate MEP services across design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Manage and support the MEP project team, including subcontractors, engineers, and supervisors.
• Oversee technical reviews, quality checks, and progress reporting.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment.
• Review and approve MEP design documentation, technical submittals, and method statements.
• Identify and resolve design or construction issues to maintain project momentum.
• Drive commissioning readiness and ensure smooth handover of MEP systems.
• Support project planning, forecasting, and progress tracking to achieve project milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in large-scale construction or data centre projects, with a strong MEP focus.
• Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, MEP systems, and installation methodologies.
• Experience with data centre, industrial, or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
