Job summary

Bosch Service Solutions in Lisbon focuses on innovative eBike technologies and smart mobility solutions. The team develops advanced drives, safety, and connectivity, aiming at sustainable and enjoyable mobility.

You will contribute to manufacturing excellence across global partnerships, applying your expertise in mechanical design, industrialization, and DFMA reviews while collaborating with international teams.

Qualifications

• University degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical design, process development, automation, or industrialization.
• Strong knowledge of diverse mechanical assembly processes (injection molding, welding, gluing, taping, automated assembly).
• 3D CAD design with GD&T; Proficiency in PTC Creo preferred.
• Experience coordinating development, tooling, and manufacturing partners.
• English fluency (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate advanced assembly processes and manufacturing technologies with internal and external partners.
• Support industrialization and mass production ramp-up by evaluating line readiness and process robustness on the shop floor.
• Analyze product requirements to optimize mechanical designs for manufacturing and assembly constraints.
• Lead DFMA reviews to ensure smooth prototype-to-mass-production transition.
• Coordinate alignment between development departments and manufacturing partners worldwide.

In the eBike team, we develop innovative products and services that make eBiking even more fascinating - from highly efficient drives and the first production-ready ABS for pedelecs to smart connectivity solutions. We develop sustainable mobility that is fun.

• Develop and validate advanced assembly processes and innovative manufacturing technologies alongside internal and external partners.
• Support the industrialization phase and mass production ramp-up by evaluating process requirements, line readiness, and process robustness on the shop floor.
• Analyze product requirements holistically, ensuring that mechanical product designs are fully optimized to meet manufacturing and assembly constraints.
• Lead and coordinate comprehensive Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) reviews to guarantee a seamless transition from prototype to mass production.
• Coordinate technical alignment between development departments and manufacturing partners worldwide.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

Education

• University degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, or related technical discipline

Experience and Know-how

• Industry Experience: More than 5 years of proven professional experience in mechanical design, process development, automation, or industrialization.
• Manufacturing Technologies: Strong knowledge of diverse mechanical assembly processes, such as plastic injection molding, welding, gluing, taping, and automated assembly systems.
• 3D Design & Tolerancing: Solid experience in 3D CAD modeling and technical drawing creation, with advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Practical experience with PTC CREO is highly preferred.
• Partner Coordination: Demonstrated experience coordinating development, tooling, and manufacturing partners.
• Domain Expertise: Prior experience or interest in consumer electronics, outdoor hardware products, smart displays, ECUs, or IoT devices, is considered a plus.
