Job summary

Addvolt, a Carrier technology unit, seeks a Mechanical Engineer focused on vehicle applications and product sustainability in Matosinhos. You will translate customer and vehicle requirements into robust integration solutions, interfacing with customers, installers and product teams.

You will apply sustainability throughout design, validation, installation and continuous improvement, collaborating in an agile, international environment. Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical design, vehicle integration or industrial equipment integration.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drawings; Creo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer, vehicle, trailer and refrigeration-unit requirements and translate into mechanical specs.
• Develop mechanical integration concepts for Addvolt/Carrier systems with proper interfaces.
• Create and review 3D models, 2D drawings, tolerances, layouts and documentation (Creo).
• Perform feasibility studies, packaging analyses and design reviews for OEM integrations.
• Apply DFM, DFA, DFS and sustainability principles to solutions.
• Support prototypes, installations, testing and field validation with cross-functional teams.
• Define validation requirements and support testing (thermal, vibration, durability).
• Investigate field issues and perform root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Contribute to material selection, durability, repairability and end-of-life considerations.
• Maintain BOMs, drawings and product data with PLM system and traceability.
• Prepare customer-facing technical docs, installation instructions, validation reports.
