Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior RAN optimization engineer in Portugal. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot LTE/NR RAN, lead mobility management strategies across LTE and 5G, and work with CSPs on roaming and SINR/QCI priorities.

The role requires deep RF tool knowledge (Atoll, TEMS, NEMO) and strong stakeholder management. Hybrid work with international teams is offered.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of LTE/NR experience and network optimization.
• Strong understanding of RF tools and mobility procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Design, optimize and troubleshoot LTE/NR Radio access network.
• Lead mobility management design for LTE and 5G networks.
• Hands-on experience in MOCN, MORAN, Roaming environments.
• Understand RAN IP stack routing and IPSec tunnels with MOCN.
• Collaborate with core network teams to optimise signalling and mobility.
• Identify root causes of mobility-related degradations and fix issues.
• Prepare optimisation recommendations, test reports & design docs.

YOUR ROLE

The role requires strong technical knowledge of RAN architecture, mobility procedures, network sharing models (MOCN/MORAN), and radio performance optimisation to ensure exceptional user experience, service continuity, and network reliability and strong understanding of QoS/QCI.

• Design, optimize and troubleshoot LTE/NR Radio access network. Develop and implement coverage and capacity improvement strategies
• Lead the design and optimisation of mobility management strategies across LTE and 5G networks covering Intra-Inter, LTE-NR, Inter RAT mobility, X2, XN interfaces in depth understanding, able to assess and support troubleshooting of issues in RAN coverage, capacity, and handover reliability
• Hands on experience in MOCN, MORAN, Roaming environments in CSP or mission critical networks. Deep understanding of SINR, RSRP, RSRQ, EN-DC, mobility triggers and procedures, etc.
• Understanding of RAN e/gNB IP stack routing and binding to IPSec/encryption tunnels in combination with MOCN
• Strong understanding of QoS for LTE/NR (QCI/5QI priorities, scheduling, etc) and wWork closely with core network teams to optimise signalling and mobility procedures
• Identify root causes of mobility-related service degradation and implement corrective actions, working closely with vendors and stakeholders to rectify the issues on priority.
• Prepare optimisation recommendations, test reports & design documentation

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in LTE/NR, network optimisation, MOCN, MORAN
• Strong understanding of RF related tools like Atoll, TEMS, NEMO or equivalent
• Ability to bridge operational, architectural, and governance aspects of network optimization etc
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English; Swedish language skills are advantageous
