Job summary

blueOASIS is seeking a proactive Mechanical/Naval Engineer to join the engineering team in developing marine systems and equipment. The role spans mechanical design, prototyping, and system development for challenging marine environments.

You will design, analyze, and validate mechanical components and assemblies, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring manufacturability and reliability. A 40h work week, 4 days in-office, and some remote flexibility are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, including statics, dynamics, and structural behaviour.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Onshape, SolidWorks, Rhino, FreeCAD, Fusion 360, Inventor, NX).
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, and ability to dimension and draft drawings.
• Ability to perform mechanical calculations and assess loads, stresses, and dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, structures, and components for marine and underwater applications.
• Contribute to static and dynamic assemblies, mechanisms, actuated systems, and moving components.
• Develop marine structures and floating systems considering stability and environmental loads.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, assembly docs, and manufacturing specs.
• Select materials and processes considering performance, corrosion, durability, and cost.
• Support prototyping, 3D printing, CNC machining, and traditional machining.
• Perform mechanical calculations related to loads, dynamics, and performance.
• Participate in assembly, integration, testing, and validation of prototypes.
