The ideal candidate has 8+ years in COBOL development, is fluent in English, and proficient in French. Pacbase experience is required, and the company supports a flexible hybrid work policy to promote wellbeing and collaboration.

• Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in French is mandatory.

Job Description

Natixis in Portugal is currently seeking a motivated and skilled COBOL Mainframe Developer (French Speaker) to join its BPCE SI (Solutions Informatiques) team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL development within the banking sector and be proficient in both French and English.

This role requires to overview design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications in compliance with business requirements. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and define requirements. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to COBOL and mainframe development.

Qualifications

Hard Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in COBOL development.
• Proficiency in Pacbase and experience with related tools and frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• proficiency in French is mandatory.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
