Aptiv PLC in Braga, Portugal seeks a test software and hardware engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing functional tests for assigned product programs. You will work on test software, hardware, and tooling and contribute to SOWs and process documentation.

The role requires a technical Bachelor’s degree, strong LabVIEW/C/C++ skills, knowledge of CAN/LIN/LVDS/FlexRay, and fluency in English. You will join a global Test Site team and engage in program management and process improvements.

Qualificações

• Proficient software development skills in LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI, TestStand, C++, and C.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, LVDS, FlexRay, BroadRReach).
• Knowledge in SSFT and statistical methods.
• Good problem solving capability.
• Ability to work and live in a global network environment.
• English fluency required.

Responsabilidades

• Work on test software, hardware, and tooling for assigned product programs.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing functional tests (electrical).
• Develop SOWs for test and programming processes/equipment.
• Assist kick-off meetings and MSD workshops with the PML for the assigned project.
• Enforce proper requirements management for the assigned test process.
• Facilitate test coverage analyses and request design changes if coverage is insufficient.
• Utilize statistical methods to optimize test performance (CPK).
• Track test equipment/tools and ensure material availability for development.
• Lead equipment buy-offs, capability studies, and parameter transfer to quality plans.
• Document the assigned test process per Aptiv procedures.
• Provide equipment training to PML test engineers.
• Participate in escalation meetings on program management level as needed.
• Support global Test Site team for post-series test processes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work on test software, hardware, and application specific tooling for assigned product programs


• Develop and optimize manufacturing functional tests (electrical)


• Develop statement of work (SOW) for test and programming processes/equipment


• Support kick-off meetings and MSD workshops with/in the PML for the assigned project


• Enforce proper requirements management for the assigned test process


• Facilitate test coverage analysis process, ensuring adequate test coverage for the assigned test process, request design changes in case test coverage issues in early design phase


• Utilize 6-Sigma for Test Statistical Analysis Methods to optimize CPK performance of parametric electrical tests


• Track needed test equipment/tools, ensure availability of needed material for all equipment/tool development


• Perform test equipment buy-off at suppliers, drive capability studies, strain measurement, create list of key parameters to be transferred to quality plan


• Work out proper documentation of the assigned test process, respect the APTIV processes and procedures accordingly


• Provide equipment training to PML test engineers, latest after PV


• Participate in escalation meetings on program management level on demand


• Support global Test Site team for agreed/defined tasks for post series test processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or similar with technical education


• Proficient software development skills in one or more of the following software languages: National Instruments LabView, NI LabWindows CVI, NI TestStand, C++, C


• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, LVDS, Flex-Ray, Broad@Reach and flashing concepts of memory devices


• Knowledge in SSFT and statistical methods


• Good problem solving capability


• Ability to work and live a global network environment
