Zego is hiring for a backend engineering leadership role in Portugal with remote-first working arrangements and quarterly visits to the London office. You will design, build and own cloud-native Python microservices powering a real-time insurance platform, lead multiple engineers, and drive architecture across multiple teams to deliver large-scale initiatives.

Qualificações

• Hands-on experience building cloud-native microservices, Python preferred
• Distributed architectures with performance tuning and observability
• Lead by example through mentoring and clear communication
• Proactive collaboration with non-engineering stakeholders
• You work AI-first and are curious to experiment

Responsabilidades

• Lead several engineers within a team or workstream
• Design, build and own Python microservices powering the insurance platform
• Drive architectural decisions across teams
• Deliver large, complex initiatives end-to-end
• Raise the bar on testability, reliability and scalability
• Coach and mentor engineers to raise overall team performance
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and incident response
