Wire IT in Lisbon is seeking an Architect / Senior Developer to lead architectural design across monolith and microservices, focusing on API-first and event-driven patterns. Hybrid location in Lisbon, Portugal, with a senior team and international projects.

You will work with Java (Spring Boot, Quarkus), PHP and Angular/TypeScript, model domain boundaries, drive modernization, and coach engineers toward self-sufficiency.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in architecture roles with hands-on tech work.
• Experience leading architecture across monoliths and microservices.
• Proficiency in API-first and event-driven approaches.
• Strong understanding of domain-driven design and data stores.
• Documentation of architectures and ADRs, with security in code.
• Experience coaching engineers to self-sufficiency.

Requirements

• +5 years of experience in similar roles.


• Principal/Lead-level architecture experience.


• Hands-on expertise across monolith and microservice estates.


• Technologies: Java (Spring Boot, Quarkus), PHP, Angular/TypeScript, Relational and NoSQL databases, Domain-Driven Design (DDD).


• Service-boundary design aligned to business/value streams.


• API-first and event-driven architectures.


• Integration-heavy systems.


• Legacy modernisation using strangler-fig approaches.


• Architecture documentation: C4 models, Reference architectures, ADRs, Current-state mapping, Security and compliance as code.


• Team Topologies expertise: Enabling Teams, Facilitating mode, Cognitive load management, Transitioning architecture teams away from ownership/gatekeeping


• Change leadership and influence without authority.


• Experience coaching senior engineers toward self-sufficiency
