Bain & Company is seeking an AI Engineer within AIS to design and ship generative AI solutions for client engagements, collaborating with Bain consultants, product managers, and data scientists to move ideas from prototype to production.

You will work on end-to-end AI systems, implement RAG, agents, and HITL, and contribute across the full stack while balancing performance, safety, and cost in enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience shipping generative AI features or systems end-to-end.
• Strong ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborates across engineering, product and data science teams; mentoring peers is a plus.
• Solid prompt engineering and context engineering skills; familiarity with conversation design.
• Experience with evaluation design, experimentation frameworks and data labeling strategies for LLM apps.
• Familiarity with RAG architectures, agentic patterns, ReAct, RLAIF, and HITL + feedback loops.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to design, development and deployment of end-to-end generative AI systems.
• Build multi-component AI pipelines including RAG, embedding generation and tuning.
• Implement reasoning, tool use, function calling and orchestration across AI workflows.
• Design and maintain APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
• Balance performance, safety and cost; implement guardrails and HITL workflows.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, ethics and infrastructure teams; communicate findings clearly.
• Support automated evaluation suites and continual model updates.
