Job summary

JTA: The Data Scientists seeks a Junior Project Manager in Portugal to support data project planning, coordination, and delivery. The role targets 0–2 years of experience, with full-time availability and cross-functional collaboration.

You'll learn our methods, contribute to documentation, and bridge business needs with technical execution. Expect mentoring in the first year and gradual ownership of larger workstreams over time.

Qualifications

• Final-year student, recent graduate, or up to 2 years of experience.
• Background in Engineering, Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Client-facing mindset and ability to clarify requirements with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear inputs for execution teams.
• Strong curiosity about technology, data, and how digital solutions are built.
• Willingness to develop technical knowledge and discuss topics with engineers and data professionals.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Well-organized and detail-oriented, especially for documentation and follow-up.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn and adapt to our ways of working, project environment, and delivery standards.
• Support the planning, coordination, and documentation of data and analytics projects.
• Develop practical working knowledge of SQL and Power BI to explore data and support delivery.
• Build foundational understanding of data concepts and analytics workflows.
• Lead smaller projects or client workstreams with mentoring and support.
• Gather and clarify requirements for execution teams.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to align business needs.
• Identify documentation gaps and improve project structure and knowledge sharing.
• Shadow experienced PMs and progressively take on more ownership and autonomy.
• Facilitate internal collaboration sessions and design thinking workshops.
• Support project follow-up with scope, risks, and delivery progress.
