Job summary

JTA: The Data Scientists is hiring a junior data analytics professional based in Portugal. You will learn end-to-end data & analytics delivery, gather requirements, own data topics, and provide data-driven insights using SQL and Power BI.

You will support PMs, manage tasks, and progressively take PM-like responsibilities under mentoring. The role emphasizes client engagement, strong analytical skills, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• SQL skills: able to write queries for exploration/validation and communicate findings clearly.
• Client-facing mindset: engage stakeholders and clarify requirements.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn our data & analytics delivery end-to-end with mentoring.
• Gather and translate requirements into execution-ready inputs for delivery.
• Own business/data topics for a well-scoped domain or data source.
• Provide data-driven insights to show performance, trends, and opportunities.
• Use SQL to explore data and validate assumptions.
• Use Power BI to explore, analyze, and visualize data.
• Support PMs with Kanban backlog readiness.
• Coordinate tasks and dependencies to keep delivery on track.
• Progressively take on PM-like responsibilities with mentoring.
• Join meetings to unblock requirements and capture decisions.
• Validate deliverables against requirements and business expectations.
• Help define data quality guardrails and red flags.
