Junior Accountant

We are hiring a highly motivated Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Faro, Portugal. As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for providing support to the accounting department by preparing financial statements, maintaining records, and performing various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial documents and records such as invoices, receipts, and bank statements
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
• Participate in financial audits
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role is preferred but not required for this junior position
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
