Decskill, part of the Astek Group, is seeking a Technical Lead Master – Java to steer technical strategy across Java applications and strategic projects. You will design solutions, mentor engineers, and coordinate global teams to deliver high-quality results.

Ideal candidates have up to 15 years of Java experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and experience working in Agile environments.

Qualificações

• Up to 15 years of experience with Java and relevant technologies/frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and the relevant application technologies.
• Experience with technical debt management and backlog prioritization.
• Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership across Java-based applications and strategic projects.
• Contribute to the design of complex technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise across the application technology stack.
• Analyse technical challenges and propose effective and sustainable solutions.
• Lead and coordinate technical activities in collaborative and global team environments.
• Ensure the quality and technical consistency of project deliveries.
• Contribute to the management and reduction of technical debt.
• Maintain and promote high-quality technical documentation for applications and solutions.
• Analyse and support infrastructure change requests related to application environments.
• Contribute to strategic projects and support the evolution of application architectures.
• Work closely with different stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical decisions and project objectives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog management and prioritization.
• Ensure effective communication with technical and functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Up to 15 years of experience with Java and relevant technologies/frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java and the relevant application technologies.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in collaborative and global teams.
• Experience working on strategic projects.
• Experience with technical debt management and backlog prioritization.
• Experience producing and maintaining technical application documentation.
• Experience handling or supporting infrastructure change requests.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence is valued.
• Knowledge of the Energy & Utilities sector is valued.
• Knowledge of GDPR is valued.
• Ability to understand application technologies and their impact on technical solutions.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• English is mandatory.
• Spanish is required for candidates based in Portugal.
• Portuguese is valued.
