iTRTech Group in Lisbon, Portugal, is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a hybrid role. You will design, build and maintain scalable backend services, REST APIs and microservices within an Agile team, delivering high-performance enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Java experience, deep Spring expertise, relational databases, and hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes. Proficiency in English is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance Java applications.
• Develop backend services, REST APIs, batch processing solutions, and enterprise applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and design to deployment and production support.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, security, maintainability, and performance.
• Collaborate with Business, QA, DevOps, and Support teams throughout project delivery.
• Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide L3 support when required.
• Contribute to CI/CD implementation and DevOps initiatives.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Work within Agile teams following Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

Mandatory Requirements

Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Java Software Development.
• Strong expertise with Java 8 or higher (up to Java 21).
• Solid experience with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring Batch, and related modules.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Sybase.
• Experience with Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience writing unit tests and applying Clean Code principles.
• Advanced English (Mandatory).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience supporting enterprise production systems.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
