KCS IT is seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our team in Porto, Portugal, operating in a hybrid model. The role requires 5+ years of backend experience and strong Java with Spring & Spring Boot expertise.

You will design and implement scalable REST APIs, work with microservices, relational databases, and Kafka, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting. English fluency is mandatory.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of backend software development with Java.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, clean code, and software engineering best practices.
• Solid experience with Spring and Spring Boot, developing scalable and maintainable backend applications.
• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and working with Microservices architectures.
• Strong experience with MySQL and relational databases, including SQL, database design, and query optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with Cloud platforms, preferably AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Good understanding of software testing practices, including unit and integration testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and a DevOps mindset.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in collaborative, cross‑functional development teams.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex backend applications.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
