Job summary

act digital in Lisbon, Portugal, is seeking a Java Backend Developer to join an international, hybrid team. You will design, develop, and maintain Java microservices for Checkout, MyAccount, and ODR Processing, building RESTful and GraphQL APIs within a luxury retail context.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, contribute to testing and security practices, and participate in a structured upskilling program to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java backend development.
• Experience building microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with REST APIs; GraphQL is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control with Git/GitLab.
• Understanding of testing practices and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java microservices for Checkout, MyAccount, and ODR Processing products.
• Build and enhance RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Write unit and integration tests; contribute to code quality through SonarQube and Snyk.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow PR processes.
• Support IAM integrations with Keycloak, Okta, and OIDC; ensure security best practices.

We're looking for a Java Backend Developer to join an international team working on innovative digital products within the luxury retail sector.

Location: Lisbon (Hybrid)

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain Java microservices for Checkout, MyAccount, and ODR Processing products
• Build and enhance RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Write unit and integration tests and contribute to code quality initiatives using SonarQube and Snyk
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Follow best practices for coding, security, and GitLab pull request processes
• Support the integration of IAM solutions such as Keycloak, Okta, and OIDC
• Collaborate with senior engineers and participate in a structured upskilling program

What we're looking for

• Experience with Java development
• Knowledge of Microservices Architecture
• Experience with REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
• Familiarity with Git/GitLab
• Understanding of testing practices and software quality principles
