Connect Digital in Lisbon is seeking a Java Backend Developer to build and maintain microservices powering checkout, customer accounts and orders. You will work with senior engineers, apply standards, and participate in a structured upskilling programme to accelerate growth.

This hybrid Lisbon-based role offers exposure to Java, Spring Boot, REST and GraphQL, with a focus on quality and IAM integrations. The position is ideal for a developer looking to grow in a modern, collaborative environment.

Qualificações

• 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience with Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining microservices.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and exposure to GraphQL.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests with JUnit, Mockito and Testcontainers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab.
• Understanding of code quality and security tools such as SonarQube and Snyk.
• Exposure to IAM flows such as Keycloak, Okta or OIDC.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to continuous learning.

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to support the development and maintenance of microservices powering digital commerce products, including checkout, customer account and order processing services.

You will work closely with senior engineers, follow established engineering standards, and take part in a structured upskilling programme designed to accelerate your growth. It is a strong opportunity to build experience with Java, Spring Boot, APIs, testing and identity and access management (IAM) in a modern engineering environment.

This is a hybrid role based in Lisbon.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java microservices for checkout, customer account and order processing products.


• Implement REST and GraphQL APIs following the client’s OpenAPI standards.


• Write unit and integration tests and contribute to pipeline quality gates.


• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.


• Follow established coding standards, security guidelines and GitLab pull request processes.


• Support the integration of IAM flows (Keycloak, Okta, OIDC) with guidance from senior engineers.


• Take an active part in a structured upskilling programme led by experienced subject-matter experts.
