Consort Group in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend applications for financial services. You will work on high-performance systems, contribute to architecture decisions, and ensure quality through testing and collaboration with stakeholders.

The role combines development and runtime support with a focus on innovation and technical excellence in a hybrid environment (50% remote).

Qualificações

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise software development, preferably in financial services or regulated industries.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining backend services and APIs.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and enhance Java backend applications using modern development practices.
• Contribute to architecture and design, including UML documentation and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Spring Boot applications and backend services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Create and execute unit, integration, and performance tests; participate in code reviews.

Java BackEnd Developer

Are you passionate about building robust financial applications and solving complex technical challenges? Then this position is for you.

As a Senior Java Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical backend applications and supporting high-performance financial systems within a demanding and innovative environment.

Build Side

• Design, develop, and enhance Java backend applications using modern development practices.
• Contribute to technical architecture and application design, including UML documentation and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Spring Boot applications and associated backend services.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Create and execute unit, integration, regression, performance, and functional tests.
• Perform code reviews and promote software craftsmanship and development standards.
• Participate in effort estimation, planning activities, and project delivery.
• Contribute to process improvements, innovation initiatives, and technical excellence.

Run Side

• Provide application support, troubleshooting, and bug fixing activities.
• Deploy application components, shell scripts, and database changes.
• Monitor application stability and ensure high levels of service quality.
• Participate in release management and technical documentation activities.
• Support production incidents and contribute to out-of-hours support when required.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with development lifecycle, quality, and governance standards.
• Continuously improve delivery efficiency, operational processes, and system reliability.

This is your background

You have at least 5 years of experience in enterprise software development environments, ideally within financial services or other highly regulated industries. You enjoy solving complex technical problems, working on critical business applications, and continuously learning new technologies.
