Consort is seeking a Backend Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems in a distributed risk and data processing platform. You will work in Agile squads to advance modern architectures and high-throughput services.

Responsibilities include implementing secure, high-quality code, integrating distributed technologies, and supporting CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.

Backend Senior Java Developer

As a Backend Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions that support complex risk management and data processing platforms within a highly distributed ecosystem.

Working within Agile squads, you will contribute to strategic projects involving modern architectures, high-throughput systems, and continuous delivery practices.

Build side:

• Design and develop robust backend applications using Java and Spring technologies

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clarify, analyze, and translate requirements into technical solutions

• Design scalable and maintainable software architectures aligned with best practices

• Develop secure, high-quality, and testable code following development standards

• Contribute to the modernization and optimization of existing applications and services

• Implement and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines

• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering excellence across the team

• Integrate distributed technologies and frameworks into the application landscape

• Develop tools and framework enhancements to support evolving business needs

• Ensure software solutions meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements

Run side:

• Support production environments and ensure application stability and availability

• Implement and maintain testing strategies, from unit testing to acceptance testing

• Participate in deployment, release management, and environment configuration activities

• Troubleshoot application issues and contribute to root cause analysis

• Maintain and improve technical documentation and operational procedures

• Work closely with multidisciplinary Agile teams during sprint and Program Increment cycles

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends

• Share technical knowledge and contribute to internal development communities

This is your background

You have at least 5 years of experience in Java backend development within demanding enterprise environments. You are passionate about software engineering, distributed systems, and delivering high-quality solutions in Agile environments.

You thrive in collaborative teams, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and are motivated by working on large-scale, business-critical platforms.

This is your expertise:

• Strong experience with Java Backend Development

• Hands-on expertise with Spring Framework / Spring Boot

• Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture

• Experience with technologies such as:

  • Apache Kafka

  • Apache Cassandra

  • Oracle Coherence

  • Spectrum Symphony

  • Tomcat

• Experience implementing testing strategies:

  • Unit Testing

  • Integration Testing

  • Acceptance Testing

• Understanding of distributed programming patterns

• Knowledge of parallelization and high-performance computing concepts

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and Agile methodologies

• Experience working in Scrum environments
