River Advice, the world’s leading independent manager of river vessels, seeks an IT Project Manager & PMO to lead planning, governance and execution of strategic IT projects in Porto. You will establish and mature a best-in-class PMO delivering transparency, efficiency and business value.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage scope, timelines, budgets and risks, ensure governance, report on portfolio status, and drive continuous improvement of PMO processes.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in managing IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, including cloud technologies and ITIL.
  • Business-level English; German is a plus.
  • Structured and autonomous work style.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Analytical and solution-oriented thinking.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and deliver IT projects and transformation initiatives from planning through successful implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and dependencies while monitoring progress and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to drive effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Ensure transparent project governance through clear stakeholder communication, comprehensive documentation, and smooth transition into operations.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve PMO standards, governance, methodologies, and project management best practices.
  • Provide transparency across the IT project portfolio, including project status, priorities, budgets, resources, risks, and dependencies.
  • Prepare portfolio reporting and support project prioritization, strategic planning, and decision-making for IT leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PMO processes, reporting quality, resource planning, and compliance with project management standards.

With a broad range of services—from shipowning, crew, nautical, and technical management to hospitality & catering, safety & security, ship financing, charter brokerage, insurance management, new-build and refit support, and ship ICT—we support our clients in all areas of passenger inland waterway shipping.

Your responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver IT projects and transformation initiatives from planning through successful implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives

Your profile:
  • Degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification
  • Experience in managing IT projects
  • Solid understanding of enterprise IT environments, including network and server infrastructure, Microsoft cloud technologies, IT security, IT service management (ITIL), and application management
  • English at business-fluent level, German is a plus
  • Structured, independent way of working
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
