Job summary

Eurofins Scientific in Braga, Portugal is seeking an IT Deployment and Support Engineer for LIMS to provide 1st and 2nd line support across European clinical labs, focusing on the core Laboratory Information Management System.

You will configure, troubleshoot, document issues, train end users, and collaborate with QA, DevOps and Product to improve customer experience, in a hybrid work setting with office days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and hands-on IT support or system engineering experience.
• Experience in application troubleshooting and Windows OS environments.
• Knowledge of Linux, Oracle RDBMS and cloud platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work in a dynamic setup.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for LIMS across Europe via email or ticketing systems.
• Troubleshoot applications, hardware, and cloud infra; document resolutions clearly.
• Configure LIMS during on-site deployments with lab staff; balance dev and configuration work.
• Create, maintain, and share knowledge base articles and FAQs; collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Product.

In a nutshell

As an IT Deployment and Support Engineer LIMS, you will provide 1stand 2ndLine Support for our European network of clinical diagnostics laboratories with a focus on the core Laboratory Information Management System.

Where will you be based and what business will you support?

Based in Braga, Portugal; you will join a globally distributed team in the Clinical LIMS Europe Program, that provides our central Laboratory Information Management System throughout Europe.

You will:

• Register, classify, route, follow-up and resolve request via e-mail or ticketing system.
• Become an expert in the LIMS Application and functionality and provide training to end users face to face or on site
• Attend on site deployments to configure LIMS processes alongside laboratory staff
• Work alongside development teams to balance development and configuration
• Diagnose and troubleshoot Application, hardware or Cloud infrastructure problems, researching and answering questions.
• Maintain accurate records of all support interactions in Eurofins IT Service Management Tool (ServiceNow, BMC Helix).
• Own the incoming requests and manages escalations to engineering or development teams with clear documentation.
• Monitor system performance and generate reports to anticipate or detect issues.
• Contribute to technical documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product to improve the customer experience.
• Execute, participate and report on IT & Application project rollout

Are you our kind of extraordinary?

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
• Proven experience in technical support, IT or system engineering role.
• Experience in application troubleshooting
• Experience in troubleshooting Windows 10, 11, networking fundamentals and cloud platforms (AWS, etc.)
• Experience of Oracle RDBMS and Linux OS.
• Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and diagnostic utilities
• Any Prior LIMS experience is an advantage but not necessary.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Very good command of English written and spoken.
• Can do approach, and capability to work in dynamically changing environment.
