Job summary

Nitro is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join its Engineering Team in Porto. You’ll assist in developing and optimising cloud-deployed JVM applications, primarily written in Scala or Java, and collaborate with engineers, product and design to build and improve features.

You’ll help debug, test and ensure performance, participate in code reviews and contribute to new functionalities based on product needs.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in bringing product features to life.
• Familiarity with the JVM and an object-oriented programming language such as Java.
• Knowledge of Scala is desired but not required.
• A basic knowledge of functional programming concepts
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
• Familiarity with version control systems (for example: Git).
• Basic knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.
