FedEx Express Portugal is seeking an Industrial Engineer Senior in process engineering to lead European Customs Clearance related projects within a safety-focused environment, driving data-driven recommendations and reports for executives and stakeholders.

You will manage cross-functional programs, develop BPM flows, SOPs, and identify automation opportunities. Travel up to 30% across Europe and collaborate with IT, Operations, Finance and Regulatory.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Industrial Engineer in an International Business environment.
• Preferably: education in business administration or engineering, IT or analytics.
• Preferably: PMP certificate or willingness to obtain it.

Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer Senior - process engineering is part of the European Planning & Engineering team and will lead European Customs Clearance related projects in a Safe environment focused on new software development / implementations using process mapping i.e BMP flows and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Would be required to project lead and oversee regional complex cross functional programs
• Recommend, lead and execute business analysis plans for new and existing projects
• Produce complex business process model flows (BPM flows) and develop SOP’s/ job aids
• Recognize and recommend opportunities for innovations, automations, and increased productivity
• Take ownership of initiatives and work independently to successful conclusion
• Evaluate business requests and needs against the strategy
• Lead any European project from start to finish (business case development, project plan, execution, implementation, hyper care support
• Maintain close partnerships with collaborating departments e.g. IT, Operations, Finance and Regulatory.
• Engage with all levels of business stakeholders to identify business needs

Profile

• Experience as a Industrial Engineer in an International Business environment.
• Preferably: Business school/University level education, in business-administration (MBA), business-engineering, master’s in Engineering, information technology or business analytics, or similar
• Preferably: PMP certificate, or willing to study to obtain this
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good planning, organizing and problem solving skills
• Very good analytical skills.
• Understand user needs and translate them into business requirements / flows
• Experience in designing and documenting business/system process flows
• Affinity with systems, technology and project management
• Innovative mindset
• Excellent interpersonal & negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively throughout various functional groups and hierarchical levels
• Willingness to travel frequently (30% or more) to various FedEx locations in Europe
• Ability to lead internal cross-functional teams to fast-cycle strategic developments
• Previous exposure to Customs Clearance is an advantage
• Affinity with the Express Transportation industry
