Siemens Energy in Portugal seeks an experienced HVDC Systems Test Engineer to join the EC CO2 team. You will test and verify hardware and software for HVDC projects, collaborating with multinational teams and customers during commissioning to ensure functional performance.

The role covers executing FPT/DPT tests, workshop tests at suppliers, system open loop testing, and on-site commissioning. Fluent English and German, willingness to travel globally, and a background in electrical engineering

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering/energy tech.
• Technician certification accepted as alternative qualification.
• Fluent in English and German is desired.

Responsabilidades

• Execute and document Functional Performance Tests (FPT) and Dynamic Performance Tests (DPT) of C&P hardware and software, including Customer Acceptance Tests at the Test Center in Germany.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate workshop tests for C&P hardware at sub-suppliers’ factory.
• Prepare and execute testing procedures for the System Open Loop Control.
• Ensure technically flawless commissioning of HVDC systems on-site, including testing of primary and secondary components.
• Support Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk, and Claim Management; contribute to Lean, Reviews, and Lessons Learned.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• You will execute and document Functional Performance Tests (FPT) and Dynamic Performance Tests (DPT) of our C&P Hardware and Software, including Customer Acceptance Tests at our Test Center in Germany.
• You will plan, execute, and evaluate workshop tests for C&P Hardware at our sub-suppliers’ factory, ensuring acceptance.
• You will prepare and execute testing procedures for the System Open Loop Control.
• You will ensure technically flawless commissioning of HVDC systems on-site, including testing of associated HV primary components and secondary systems.
• You will support Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk, and Claim Management, and participate in improvement programs like Lean, Reviews, and Lessons Learned.

What You Bring

• Degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or equivalent qualification; Technician certification accepted.
• Proficient in grid protection systems, protection relays & BCUs, and testing via MATLAB/SIMULINK, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7, CFC.
• Experience or knowledge in Electrical Engineering and commissioning of power stations or HVDC systems.
• Understanding of current and voltage measuring devices and other primary equipment.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Willingness for global travel and long-term assignments, including offshore platforms; strong team player with excellent communication and decision-making skills.
