Siemens Energy is seeking an HVDC commissioning specialist to ensure flawless, on-time performance of networked systems at construction sites worldwide.

The role focuses on configuring and supporting TCP/IP-based networks, HMI concepts, and time synchronization, with travel across sites and to offshore platforms as needed.

Qualificações

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering or comparable education/qualification.
• Experience in network administration, HMI concepts, and PC administration.
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP, RADIUS, network security, and monitoring.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
• Fluent English language skills
• Willingness for worldwide travel and long-term assignments on construction sites

Responsabilidades

• Oversee commissioning of HVDC systems on global construction sites, ensuring on-time, economical handling.
• Manage commissioning, support, and control of TCP/IP-based network infrastructure and HMI concepts.
• Coordinate time synchronization and interfaces to signal suppliers.
• Support troubleshooting and testing of communication interfaces.
• Participate in improvement programs and lean initiatives.

A Snapshot of Your Day

In our HVDC Communication Team, we test and verify network infrastructures, communication interfaces, as well as HMI concepts of our innovative HVDC projects in our test center. During the commissioning of our HVDC systems worldwide, we ensure the flawless functionality and quality. Our diverse and multinational teams work closely with project management, system, and component engineering to provide custom solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.

How You'll Make An Impact

• You are responsible for technically flawless, on-time and economical handling of the commissioning of HVDC systems on our construction sites (worldwide) especially for data networks and individual components of network communication SCADA-Level.
• Responsibility for the commissioning, support, and control of the predominantly TCP/IP - based network infrastructure, HMI concept, and their purpose - specific adaptation.
• Responsibility for time synchronization as well as the local and remote signal converter and thus interface to all other involved signal suppliers.
• Support for other commissioning components as well as customers and external partners in troubleshooting and testing communication interfaces.
• Support for IBS management in quality, risk, and claim management.
• Participation in improvement programs (including Lean, reviews, and lessons learned).

What You Bring

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering or comparable education/qualification.
• Experience in network administration (switches, routers, etc.), basic HMI, and PC administration (hardware and virtualization).
• Good knowledge of network protocols (including TCP/IP, RADIUS) as well as network security and monitoring.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and precisely.
• Fluent English language skills
• Class B driving license for Germany
• Handling of circuit diagrams and electrical systems/ measuring instruments
• Preferable skilled electrician
• Willingness for worldwide business trips and long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad, as well as optional assignments on offshore platforms (> 6 Month)
• Team player, communicative, proactive, positive handling of conflicts, decision making capability
