Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM) in Portugal seeks a Histopathology Technician to support tissue analysis, processing, and histology techniques. You will work with human, organoid, and animal models and contribute to immunohistochemistry and related methods in a dynamic research setting.

Formación

• Requires Bachelor’s or Master’s in Pathological Anatomy or Biomedical Laboratory Sciences.
• Interest in histology and molecular biology techniques.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written) with good communication and teamwork.

Responsabilidades

• Planning, implementing, and controlling multiple stages of analysis and treatment of biological tissues for histology.
• Applied histology in human, organoid, and animal models.
• Planning, implementing, and controlling complementary techniques such as histochemistry and immunohistochemistry.
• Sample preparation for paraffin embedding, cryo-microtomy, vibratome sectioning, and related methods.
• Providing user training in paraffin techniques, cryo-microtomy, vibratome sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and complementary techniques.
• Collecting samples for DNA/RNA extraction using kit-based methods and spatial transcriptomics.
