Six Senses Douro Valley is seeking an experienced Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team in the Douro Valley, Portugal. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Portugal, and be fluent in Portuguese and English, with a passion for creativity and experimentation.

We expect you to guide the pastry team, refine menus, and ensure presentation aligns with Six Senses wellness principles and seasonal availability. A car is essential for commuting to the property.

Job description

Six Senses Douro Valley are currently seeking an experienced Head Pastry Chef to join the team.

Below are a few duties you will be expected to do:

• Check guest profiles and guest history prior to the guest arrival and be familiar with all the information.
• Menus and signature dishes will be constantly assessed to remain relevant and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices and with seasonal availability, while Destination Dining experiences will reflect this innovation and creativity from a culinary sense.
• Guidance is provided to relevant pastry team on standard portion control and appealing presentation of all dishes.
• Interact with guests in a professional, courteous and positive manner and proactively seek feedback.

Due to our location, it is vital that you have your own car to be able to get to and from the property.
