A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of Governance & Digital Architecture for Grid Technologies you are the strategist of the GT Digital Services organization. You are the architect of our digital future and the guardian of its successful execution. Your day will be spent defining the strategic Digital Services roadmap for the Grid Technologies business area, establishing the architecture roadmap that guides our technology decisions, overseeing the project portfolio and driving critical change‑management initiatives that underpin our transformation. You ensure the GT Digital Services roadmap and Cybersecurity strategy are fully connected and contribute to GT Business Area priorities while aligning with the global Siemens Energy Strategy and roadmap. As the Enterprise Architect for Grid Technologies you orchestrate all GT Digital Services activities to deliver maximum value to the business.

How You'll Make an Impact

• You will create the strategic framework that enables the entire digital organization to succeed.
• Lead, inspire, and transform a high‑performing team across IT Architecture, Cyber Security, Data Enablement, and Change Management, while owning and evolving the digital roadmap and IT governance framework for Grid Technologies to ensure transparency and alignment with business objectives and SE standard.
• Facilitate the strategic portfolio management process, providing transparency on project status, financials, and resource allocation to support effective investment decisions by business leaders.
• Lead IT Architecture and Governance to define and enforce technology standards, collaborating closely with Grid Technologies Process Owners and the Corporate Enterprise Architecture team. Identify and develop tools that provide transparency on GT processes, tools, applications, and data, aligning closely with the BS EQS team. Establish collaborative working modes with Executive Units and corporate functions, and support them proactively in their digital journey. Establish decision gremiums (e.g., Solution Decision Committee) to decide on core topics and move decisively and consequently.
• Continuously bring an outside‑in perspective, benchmark performance against industry best practices, identify and evaluate forward‑thinking IT/OT technologies, and champion transformation by leading Change Management to ensure successful technology adoption and a digital‑first mindset across the business.
• In Cybersecurity, develop core competencies to support operational implementation of security guidelines and requirements at all levels (products, processes, tools, embedded software, etc.), starting with ACP, while supporting the community in increasing its skills.
• Deliver on tight timelines driven by urgent Business Area needs, leveraging widespread expertise and openness to fill white spots to support GT Digital Services and work closely with the Head of Digital Services.

What You Bring

• Longstanding senior IT leadership experience in IT strategy, IT architecture, portfolio management, and digital transformation; advantageous: management consulting experience; influence in highly matrixed organization; expert facilitation, negotiation, and consensus building.
• A master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, business information technology, or related field.
• Strong business and financial acumen with a productivity mindset; C‑suite level communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex strategies into coherent technology roadmaps and investment portfolios with maximized ROI.
• Extensive experience as Enterprise Architect with strategic and communication skills; deep knowledge of IT architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL) and modern technology trends such as AI embedding; expert level knowledge of Project & Portfolio Management principles, tools, and methodologies including simulation.
• Forward‑looking mindset and passion for emerging IT/OT technologies (e.g., Generative AI, Digital Twins, Edge Computing) and their application in industrial contexts.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance and Cybersecurity Frameworks and Change Management methodologies; deep expertise in IT governance, strategic planning, and financial management of a large, complex IT budget.
• Proven expertise in IT performance management and benchmarking; definition and measurement of KPIs demonstrating the value and effectiveness of a digital organization.
