We are hiring a skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in Porto Portugal. As the Head Chef you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and create menus that are both innovative and appealing to customers
• Manage food inventory and order supplies as needed
• Train and supervise kitchen staff including chefs, cooks and assistants
• Monitor food preparation methods to maintain consistency and quality
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment and ensure proper functioning
• Collaborate with management to develop new dishes or improve existing ones
• Manage food costs by minimizing waste and monitoring portion control
• Create schedules for kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation during busy periods

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
• Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques and international cuisines
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
• Proficiency in menu planning, costing and inventory management
• Understanding of food safety regulations
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills in English; Portuguese is a plus
