Vestas in Porto invites a senior engineer to lead grid-following converter control development within the Converter & Electrical Module. You will design, implement, and verify control software for grid-connected converters, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet grid codes and performance targets.

The role is hybrid in Porto with up to 10 travel days per year, requires a Master or PhD in engineering and fluent English, and offers strong development opportunities in a global wind

Qualificações

• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in the Power Converter Industry with knowledge in grid-side control, development, design, and implementation.
• Master's or PhD in Engineering within electronics, control or power electronics.
• Deep understanding of grid-forming control and grid-connected converters.
• Strong modelling and verification through simulations/tests.
• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS or PSCAD.
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication.

Responsabilidades

• Lay out converter requirements and own control design and software development.
• Support technical sales, grid integration and service functions.
• Develop guidelines for related teams.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for field issues.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and lead project delivery.
