Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Fire and Explosion Safety Specialist to lead the BU Fire and Explosion Safety Program across facilities and equipment, providing technical guidance and risk‑based management.

You will conduct risk assessments, define safety requirements for purchasing, installation, and maintenance, travel globally, and collaborate with insurance providers to strengthen prevention measures. Fluent English required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with Fire and Explosion safety specialization.
• 8+ years of experience in Fire and Explosion safety functions.
• Strong knowledge of EN (EU) Fire and Explosion Regulations, SEVESO, ATEX, British Standards, API, and NFPA requirements.
• Experience in safety inspections and audits.

• Define safety requirements during purchasing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with Real Estate projects to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and prepare corrective and preventive actions.

The Opportunity

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Lead the BU Fire and Explosion Safety Program, including related processes and technical guidance.

• Develop and implement cross-functional strategies for Fire and Explosion safety measures and standards.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, with a specialization in Fire and Explosion safety.
• Over 8 years of experience in relevant functions. In-depth understanding of EN (EU) Fire and Explosion Regulations, SEVESO, ATEX, British Standards, API, and NFPA requirements.
• Experience in defining and conducting Fire and Explosion safety inspections and audits.
• Proven ability to collaborate with insurance companies on Fire and Explosion prevention.
• Strong technical safety knowledge and experience in risk review for capital projects related to Fire and Explosion safety.
• Willingness to travel globally (10-20% time), and fluency in English.

The minimum salary for this position in the location specified is as follows:

• Italy: starting from 52,700 gross annual salary
• Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico
