Job summary

Mystic Cruises seeks a Front Desk Attendant to warmly welcome guests, manage check-ins, and provide information on shipboard services and ports. You will verify documents, issue and collect key cards, and process payments while maintaining guest records with accuracy.

Fluent English is essential; advanced German is a plus. A hospitality background and strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are required for success aboard our expedition cruises.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a luxury hotel front desk or 1 year onboard a cruise with high guest contact
• Cash handling or accounting experience is beneficial
• Fluent in written and spoken English; advanced German; other languages a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills; strong organizational ability

Responsibilities

• Greet guests professionally
• Deal with guest complaints and comments promptly
• Provide information on shipboard services and ports
• Check-in guests: verify documents, assign cabins, distribute key cards, process payments
• Keep accurate records and follow up on lost and found items
• Issue and follow up on AVOs
• Maintain inventory of office supplies
• Conduct wake-up calls for guests
• Coordinate with maintenance on guest areas and follow up on work orders
• Prepare birthday/anniversary lists and distribute to departments
• Assist with disembarkation information and inquiries
• Assist chief purser with customs and immigration paperwork
• Ensure proper handling of key cards and replacement requests
• Complete weekly Work Registration forms for Chief Purser
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Charge guest and crew shipboard accounts
• Assist in other departments (provision, luggage) as needed
