Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Tailings & Mine Waste team in Madrid, Spain. The role focuses on supporting safe tailings facilities and requires knowledge of geotechnical software, field work, and strong communication skills.

The candidate should have 2–5 years of consultancy experience, a civil/geotechnical engineering degree, and willingness to travel to client sites. A driving license is required for business travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required).
• Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferred).
• Professional registration is desirable but not essential.
• 2–5 years of experience in engineering consultancy (required).
• Knowledge of geotechnical software and numerical modelling tools (required).
• Willingness to travel and work on-site at client facilities (required).
• Valid driving license for business travel (required).

Responsibilities

• Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design.
• Geotechnical analyses using software tools.
• Understanding tailing deposition modelling (Muk3D).
• Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation.
• Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems.
• Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, specifications.
