Decskill is expanding its Intelligent Automation and AI team in Porto, seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, develop and improve production-grade AI agents.

You will work on agent reasoning, tool integration, prompts and observability, collaborating with Business Analysts and engineers across a multicultural team. This role offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge Generative AI technologies.

Competenze

• 3–6 years of Python development experience.
• 1–2 years of experience with LLM/Generative AI applications.
• Experience with at least one AI agent framework (e.g., CrewAI, LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen).
• Understanding of ReAct-style agent loops, tool calling and structured outputs.
• Strong knowledge of prompt engineering and RAG patterns.
• Experience consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Knowledge of JSON Schema design.
• Experience with asynchronous Python.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to deploy applications, read logs and safely manage Kubernetes ConfigMaps.
• Strong testing culture with pytest and deterministic tests for AI systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Design, develop and improve production-grade AI agents.
• Create agent workflows with task decomposition, tool calls, memory/state management.
• Implement guardrails and human-in-the-loop checks for processes.
• Develop prompts, test and release configurations; maintain prompts.
• Build AI evaluation frameworks using real business data and datasets.
• Develop regression tests and quality metrics for AI systems.
• Perform shadow testing and validate before production rollout.
• Adapt AI agents to business requirements, including terminology and workflows.
• Instrument agents for observability: logs, token usage, latency and failures.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical teams to translate requirements.
• Ensure reliability, scalability and quality of AI solutions in production environments.
