TASIS Portugal in Sintra invites applications for a Grades 6–12 French and Spanish Teacher – Maternity Cover beginning October 2026. The successful candidate will teach French and Spanish to students across Grades 6–12, delivering engaging, student-centered lessons.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in relevant languages, teaching certification, at least three years of secondary teaching, and strong English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in French, Spanish, Modern Foreign Languages, Education, or related field.
• Teaching certification or licensure is required.
• Minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience.
• Experience teaching both French and Spanish at the secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language learning.
• High level of English language proficiency.
• Experience working in an international school environment is desirable.
• Experience with IGCSE and/or IB Diploma Programme is an advantage.

Grades 6–12 French and Spanish Teacher – Maternity Cover Start Date:

October2026 Position Overview: TASIS Portugal is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced French and Spanish Teacher to join our faculty temporarily to provide maternity cover from October 2026. The successful candidate will teach French and Spanish to students across Grades 6–12 and will be responsible for delivering engaging, student-centered lessons that develop language proficiency, confidence, and an appreciation of Francophone and Spanish-speaking cultures.

The role requires an educator who can create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment, differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse international student body, and work collaboratively with colleagues within the Languages Department. Experience teaching secondary-level French and Spanish is essential. Previous experience with international curricula, including IGCSE and/or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, would be an advantage.
