Job summary

Tech Tide Portugal is seeking a freelance Load Test Engineer for a long-term project based in Portugal. The role involves designing and executing load tests using k6 or Apache JMeter, integrating results into CI/CD, and optimizing performance across cloud-based systems. The engagement is 90–95% remote with occasional visits to Lisbon.

Fluent English is required, with Portuguese or German as a plus. The contract is B2B freelance, approximately 12 months with extension potential, open to EU

Freelance project – long-term engagement in Portugal

Tech Tide is a Portugal-based technology company delivering Cloud, AI and Robotics projects for companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For a long-term project in Portugal, we are looking for a freelance Load Test Engineer, contracted directly by Tech Tide (B2B). This is not a permanent position.

Location: Portugal project, 90–95% remote

The project is based in Portugal and the team works out of Lisbon. You can work almost fully remote from Portugal or Germany, with occasional visits to the team in Lisbon.

Project scope

• Design, script and run load and performance tests
• Analyse results and give clear recommendations to the teams
• Build and maintain a reusable performance testing setup
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines

Your profile

• Strong hands-on experience with k6 and/or Apache JMeter
• Test design, scripting, execution and result analysis
• Understanding of cloud-based distributed systems (AWS a plus)
• Fluent English; Portuguese or German is a plus
• Based in Portugal or Germany
