About Unilabs

Headquartered in Geneva and part of the A.P. Moller Group, Unilabs is one of Europe’s leading medical diagnostics companies, offering a complete range of laboratory, pathology, genetics, and imaging services to patients across 14 countries. Unilabs invests heavily in technology, equipment, and people – using digital technologies in its state-of-the-art laboratories and imaging institutes – to improve the lives of close to 100 million people every year.

About the Role

To support Unilabs Switzerland Finance in evolving beyond reporting, we are looking for a Finance Data & Performance Analyst to join our Controlling team. This role combines financial reporting, data analytics and process improvement, helping our Controllers focus on value-added analysis, business partnering and finance transformation. The successful candidate will progressively take ownership of selected reporting and planning activities currently performed in Switzerland, while helping improve, standardize and automate them over time.

We are looking for someone who enjoys building sustainable Finance and data solutions, not just fixing individual issues. Success in this role comes from creating scalable processes, trusted data and long-term efficiency gains for the Controlling team.

What you will do

Own and improve recurring reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain financial and operational reporting packages
  • Support monthly closing, forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Produce KPI dashboards and performance analyses
  • Perform variance analyses and investigate unexpected trends
  • Take ownership of selected recurring reporting activities currently performed by the Swiss Controlling team

Build sustainable data & automation solutions

  • Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting tools
  • Design and implement scalable reporting, automation and data-management solutions
  • Build standardized datasets, reporting models and analytical tools that can be maintained and used by the wider Finance team
  • Reduce manual work through simplification, standardization and automation
  • Promote harmonization of data definitions, reporting logic and performance metrics across Finance, HR and Operations
  • Ensure solutions are robust, documented and sustainable over time rather than dependent on manual workarounds or individual knowledge

Improve data quality and processes

  • Investigate data quality and reconciliation issues
  • Identify root causes of recurring problems and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Support alignment between Finance, HR and Operations data sources
  • Improve reporting governance, documentation and process ownership
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives

Support business performance analyses

  • Prepare ad hoc analyses for Finance and Operations teams
  • Support business cases, productivity initiatives and performance reviews
  • Help transform data into actionable insights that support decision-making
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineer, or related field
  • 3-7 years experience in FP&A, Business Analytics, Data Analytics or Process Improvement roles
  • Demonstrated experience improving or redesigning reporting, planning or data processes in a structured and sustainable manner
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel and PowerBI skills
  • Experience with data aggregation & harmonization (via PowerQuery, Knime, Alteryx…)

Nice to have

  • SQL and/or Python
  • Experience with ERP and planning systems (D365 or similar)
Who you are
  • Curious and proactive
  • Comfortable working with large datasets
  • Interested in solving problems and improving processes
  • Able to translate data into actionable insights
  • Focused on building long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes
  • Looking to grow at the intersection of Finance, Data and Business Performance
  • Pragmatic enough to deliver today's reporting requirements while continuously improving tomorrow's processes
What success looks like after 18 months

You will have:

  • Taken ownership of a significant portion of recurring reporting activities previously performed in Switzerland
  • Reduced manual effort through automation and process improvements
  • Implemented reporting and data-management solutions that are standardized, documented and sustainable
  • Improved consistency and harmonization of Finance, HR and Operations data
  • Developed reporting and analytical tools actively used by the Controlling team
  • Helped create a Controlling environment that is less dependent on individuals and more supported by robust processes, governance and scalable data solutions
  • Enabled senior Controllers to dedicate more time to business partnering, performance analysis and strategic initiatives
  • Hybrid working model (office & remote flexibility)
  • Opportunity to work on Swiss-market healthcare and laboratory platforms with real clinical impact
  • International, collaborative, and regulated product environment
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Long-term ownership of a strategic healthcare product
Why join us?

This is not a traditional reporting role.

You will progressively take ownership of reporting activities while helping automate and simplify them. Your success will be measured not only by the quality of the reporting you deliver, but also by the efficiency improvements and analytical capabilities you enable across the Controlling team.

You will work closely with experienced Controllers in Switzerland and gain exposure to budgeting, forecasting, performance management, business partnering and finance transformation initiatives.
