Job description:

Position Purpose:

The Accounting Technician will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial administrative processes, handling payroll processing, and organizing financial documents for external accountants. This role ensures total financial compliance and smooth operational workflows to support the company’s cross-border growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial & Administrative Processes:

Manage daily financial tasks, including invoice processing, expense tracking, and supplier payments.

Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records in the company’s ERP/accounting software.

Coordinate with the operational and logistics teams to ensure accurate billing and financial documentation.

Payroll Processing:

Prepare and process monthly payroll, managing salary calculations, overtime, and employee benefits.

Handle social security declarations, tax withholdings (IRS), and mandatory legal reporting.

Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding payroll and contract queries.

Accounting Organization & Support:

Organize, classify, and archive all financial documentation to hand over seamlessly to external certified accountants.

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures and reports.

Ensure full compliance with Portuguese tax legislation and accounting standards.

Skills:

Degree or professional certification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.

Solid experience in payroll processing, financial administration, and Portuguese tax requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., PHC, Primavera, or similar).

High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work with confidential data.

Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is advantageous.

Work permit for Portugal is mandatory.
