Schneider Electric Portugal, Lisboa, seeks an experienced field service engineer to install, commission, modify and maintain Speed Drives, PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation. You will work on site under the Services Execution Coordinator, ensuring safety and quality.

Requirements include at least 3 years of hands-on experience with speed drives and PLC, strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, and fluent English.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or technical degree in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Experience reading electrical and network diagrams.

Responsabilidades

• Install, commission, modify and maintain Speed Drives, PLC, HMI, SCADA systems.
• Onsite testing, maintenance and fault diagnosis of automation equipment.
• Supervise planned maintenance and provide site reports.
• Contribute to offers, training, and customer support for Schneider Electric EcoStruxure.
• Travel to customer sites, including high-security locations, as required.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reports to: Service Execution Manager

Purpose of job: Installation, commissioning, modification and maintenance of industry automation, speed drives and monitoring systems & software.

Language: Portuguese and English fluent written and spoken

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Working directly under Services Execution Coordinator, perform or supervise the following

activities on Speed Drives, PLC, HMI, Scada and related equipment for Industry Automation:

• Assessment for Installation of new system automation and monitoring systems.
• Onsite testing/commissioning and maintenance/repair of Speed Drives and PLC.
• Wiring Modifications and Upgrades.
• Equipment functional electrical and mechanical tests and validations.
• Supervising and Performing planned Maintenance – From visual to intrusive across Schneider Electric product ranges & software systems.
• Systems testing and fault diagnosis.
• Installation of EcoStruxure systems and required hardware.

Provide technical information and assistance for Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure platform:

• Connected: Configuration of electrical control, monitoring and protection equipment.
• Edge: Configuration, commissioning, and support of SCADA platform for electrical control and monitoring.
• Services: Commissioning and connection to Schneider Electric's Advisor platforms.

Working in a safe environment - Perform site risk assessments and assist in producing method statements or work instructions.

Produce test results and detailed site work reports.

Contribute to the formulation of offers and quotations for site activities.

Contribute to customer training activities.

Promote Schneider Electric offers and services, identify and pursue business opportunities.

Participate in the On-Call rota system to provide emergency support to our customers 24/7.

Supervising personnel onsite which will include members of your own team and sub-contractors or partners.

Liaising with project managers for the delivery & completion of customer projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

General Background and Experience

The holder of this job will:

• Have at least 3 years’ experience of installation, commissioning, maintenance & repair of Speed Drives & PLC.
• Have excellent mechanical and electrical knowledge,
• Strong experience on site with Automation/HMI components,
• General knowledge of industrial software and communication networks (Modbus, Profinet, IEC61850)
• Understanding and use of industrial communication network architectures
• Basic network troubleshooting,
• Use of network tools to investigate or validate solutions,
• Able to read Network Architectures.

The holder of this job will:

• Be self-motivated and resourceful, flexible with respect to changing tasks and available at the times required to perform them
• Be customer/results focused and demonstrate a ‘service’ disposition
• Be willing to travel and to work at high security customer sites including; Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Military and Offshore locations.
• Be willing to learn similar disciplines on related distribution equipment

Skills and Qualifications

The holder of this job will:

• Demonstrate appropriate underpinning knowledge in the form of academic qualifications (Technical Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Industrial Control Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience) or relevant experience.
• Hold a full driving license and passport
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Have good inter-personal skills
• Be well grounded in the principles & application of electrical safety from the risks associated with live distribution networks.
• Proficiency in IT tools, including email, data entry, routine databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and chart creation.
• Proactively participate in team activities to achieve department and company objectives.

It is required that the applicant be experienced in the principles of:

• Control Circuit Wiring testing & modification.
• Mechanical/Electrical function testing of Speed Drives
• Network trace analysis and troubleshooting
• Expertise in industrial communication protocols and networks

Key Performance Indicators

The holder of this job will:

• Produce site reports/ test results within 2 working days of completing a contract
• Complete time sheets, expenses on a weekly basis
• Complete Health & Safety documentation on a daily basis whilst in a supervisory role
• Complete Method Statements & Risk assessments within timescales set
• Complete installations & maintenance against agreed timescales
• Participate in regular training programs to develop and enhance professional competencies.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Schneider Electric's global portfolio and associated service offerings to identify cross-business opportunities and maximize operational efficiency.
