Job summary

Carrier's Addvolt unit is seeking a hands-on Field Application Engineer to support the technical integration, installation, commissioning and validation of Carrier solutions with vehicle OEM platforms.

This role blends field engineering with application and system integration, requiring collaboration with customers, OEM teams, installers and service partners across markets; travel may be involved. You will troubleshoot, document results and translate feedback into engineering requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive or related field.
3+ years in field engineering, systems integration, commissioning or product validation.
Strong ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and technical specs.
Excellent communication and issue-resolution capabilities.

Responsibilities

Support technical integration of Addvolt/Carrier products with trucks and trailers.
Review requirements, interface specs and vehicle configurations.
Perform site surveys and assess installation feasibility.
Support installation, commissioning and validation at customer sites.
Define interfaces, CAN communication and power connections.
Execute tests, document results and verify acceptance criteria.
Diagnose field issues with root-cause analysis and tools.
Coordinate resolution with multi-disciplinary teams.
Provide technical guidance and training to customers and partners.
Create installation instructions and service reports.
