Carrier/Addvolt is seeking a hands-on Field Application Engineer to support system integration and installation of Carrier solutions for transport refrigeration on trucks and trailers from Matosinhos, Porto. You will collaborate with OEMs, installers and service partners to ensure safe, robust deployments.

The role requires 3+ years in field engineering, strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work across multiple sites and languages. International travel is expected.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in field engineering, systems integration, commissioning, technical service, application engineering or product validation.
• Good understanding of multidisciplinary systems involving electrical, electronic, mechanical and software interfaces.
• Practical experience with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and validation in customer or industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
• Structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills, with a strong focus on safety, quality and customer impact.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to work directly with customers and external partners.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities and coordinate activities across multiple teams and locations.

Responsabilidades

• As Field Application Engineer, support the technical integration of Addvolt/Carrier products with trucks, trailers, transport refrigeration units and OEM interfaces.
• Review customer and OEM application requirements, interface specifications, installation constraints and vehicle configurations.
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to confirm installation feasibility and identify adaptations.
• Support installation, commissioning and functional validation at customer, OEM, bodybuilder and service-partner sites.
• Define and verify electrical, mechanical and communication interfaces including power connections and CAN where applicable.
• Execute integration tests, document results and ensure acceptance criteria are met.
• Diagnose field issues using documentation, measurements, tools, data and root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate issue resolution with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance and training.
