Job summary

iBET invites applications for a Research Fellowship (MSc) in the Animal Cell Technology Unit to work on machine learning-driven CAR T cell manufacturing for improved safety and efficacy in the treatment of hematologic cancers. The project (Ref. 2024.14194.PEX) is financed by FCT.

We seek a Master in Biological Engineering or related areas with strong cell culture and analytical skills, and proficient English. Starting 1 February 2026 for 6 months, with potential renewal.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Biological Engineering or related field with final grade ≥ 18/20.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian/human stem cell culture and cell culture in bioreactor.
• Analytical skills for cell characterization (flow cytometry, immunofluorescence).

Responsibilities

• Investigate how patient-specific factors influence outcomes of CAR T cell therapies and how they could be considered in personalized manufacturing.
• Support experimental design and data analysis within the Animal Cell Technology Unit project.
